Adorable book about sibling love

This sweet story of a brother who loses his favorite toy and the older sister who redeems it for him by giving up a brand new, shiny, bigger and better toy, with no prompting from an adult, but just because she loves her brother, should be a must-read for every multi-child family. We love this warm, gentle story. It's one of the books I will make sure each of my children has available to read to my grandchildren.

Any child who has a favorite stuffed toy will get caught up in the story, in the suspense, and in the happy ending. Shirley Hughes is a British author, and an observant reader can see that the setting doesn't look like America.
